In production for only one year during WWII, the great B-7 Parka was an essential asset in the protection of pilots and ground crews stationed in the bitterly cold climates of Alaska. With plummeting temperatures and unheated cockpits at altitudes of up to 20,000 feet, a heavy-duty piece of outerwear was needed to keep out the chill and the specifically designed.
Our version of the B-7 Flight Parka, Yates, is an accurate reproduction of the original B-7. We managed to acquire an original B-7 after much perseverance from a world leading renowned collector, to add to our UGG Men's archives at Decker’s.
This mid-thigh-length jacket features a full shearling hood with a storm collar and fastening leather straps for protection against bitter winds and blowing snowstorms. The two deep, open-top front map/cargo pockets are perfect for keeping gloves handy, while the two additional front zippered pockets with leather reinforcements keep your belongings safe. There are also toggle buttons alongside the covered zipper for added protection against the wind, and reinforced storm cuffs.
We have developed a proprietary finishing on our shearling that makes our Yates look slightly lived, rather than the ultra-bright white shearling other competitors offer.
Our archived original WW2 B-7 dates back to 1942 and is reputed to be by far the best surviving example vintage collectors have ever seen. The minimal numbers produced of this style not only make it rare, but the environmental use factors they endured only left the world with a few, making it one of the most sought after and cherished garments of the World War.
